All you need to get started.is a valid Eldorado Library card, A pin number (available by calling or visiting the library) and a computer. In order to download you will have to install some free software that is available on "Southern Illinois Libraries on the Go" website. Some audio titles can also be burned to CD to listen on-the-go. Titles will automatically expire at the end of the loan period. There are no late fees!

Eldorado patrons who download an audio book or an e-book or watch a demo of this new library service (between March 5th and April 12th) will be entered in a drawing to win a NOOK Color or an iPod. The Friends of the Eldorado Library are providing the prizes (one of each device.) The drawing will be held during National Library Week on Wednesday, April 13th.

"Southern Illinois Libraries on the Go" is a growing consortium of 11 public libraries that have joined forces to bring downloadable audio and e-books to the patrons of our communities. The consortium has chosen Overdrive, a Cleveland, OH based company as the vendor for this service. Libraries are the ultimate recyclers!

Books, magazines, audios and videos all get recycled daily at the library. This month the library has been focusing on being more environmentally responsible. Have you noticed the recycle bins that have popped up in the lobby?

The library is collecting plastic bags and clean plastic bottles and aluminum cans for recycling.

We have some good books about living green also.
